THE HOME SCHOOL LEGAL DEFENSE ASSOCIATION (HSLDA) STARTED THIS PETITION TODAY TO ENCOURAGE THE CALIFORNIA SUPREME COURT TO "DEPUBLISH" THE FEBRUARY 28 APPELLATE RULING AGAINST PRIVATE HOMESCHOOLING IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

The decision to ask for "depublishment" would mean that the decision would remain for this particular family who seems to have been abusing homeschool law, but it would NOT be allowed into case law; i.e., it could not be applied to any other California homeschoolers. This decision would have to be made at the California Supreme Court level. This is the tact that HSLDA has wisely elected to make, one that I support wholeheartedly. And I hope that you will as well.
