Yes, a day late, but I spent part of today working on the Carry On Tuesday prompt (#33), a quotation from Ella Wheeler Wilcox:
"We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear."
Hope
we hope for
what we fear.
not fully-fruited,
stunted by drought of
faith
encouragement
time.
planted in fallow ground --
uncultivated,
unfertilized.
plucked by
fractious birds
after the blossoms droop,
before fruit buds forth.
Hope
fades to indistinct memory
as the frost descends.
again.

that really is fascinating, especially the first two lines.
love this Susanne,
not fully-fruited,
stunted by drought of
faith
encouragement
time.
this is my favourite bit - so true!
Plucked by fractious birds-great! I also love the last line-as the frost descends again. You are such a wonderful and gifted poet!
Thank you, all. Your encouragement means so much to me! :)
This turned out great! And I don't mind you being late on Tues, after all I've been late on commenting, if I'd have been on the ball I'da missed this comepletely.
