Miming Pain
I am one of those
blatant mimes inside
a box of my own making,
hands splayed against walls
visible only to me.
An entrapped reality
silences my vociferous
cries for help. At least
I am able to annoy
the supercilious.
They brush me away,
slapping instinctively
at a blood-engorged mosquito.
